Get Your MOJO Back
Giving yourself a break is important, but if you CBF too long it can be difficult to get back on track. Sometimes you just lose your mojo.
Well, here are my top 6 tips to get yourself back into the swing of things to get your mojo back.
Plan your workout schedule.
If you’re anything like me, this is one of the easiest ones to do. Just scroll through Instagram, YouTube or Pinterest and have a look at all those amazing workouts. 4 reps of this, 3 reps of that, doesn’t look too hard at all. Find something that looks fun, or challenging if you have a competitive nature.
Create a banging playlist
Focusing on the music and lyrics of a playlist can usually take my mind off all physical exertion, or get me in the zone. As a result, this increases the effectiveness of my workout!
This one could also work if you put on a podcast/tv show to watch while you’re on a treadmill/bike. Killing two birds with one stone; bingeing a season of Dynasty and sweating some bullets.
Find someone (or something) to keep you accountable
It can be much harder to excuse yourself out of a workout if you go with a friend. If you are competitive like me, you will get FOMO if they go without you.
Using an app, however, rather than a friend, can be a great alternative (and may be a more reliable / less chatty / judgemental / annoying way) to keeping you on track. Once you download that app and put all your details in, seeing the endless ways you can easily move your body for 7-10mins a day is actually pretty helpful!
Some apps sends daily reminders (which I’m sure you can turn off on CBF days) to do certain exercises. This keeps you focused on whatever far-fetched goal you set yourself when you first downloaded the app.
Set yourself little SMART goals
Having an goal, light at the end of the tunnel, is what can spur you on. Once you reach that goal, you realise that you can actually do it, and it will (hopefully) motivate you to keep going, and to keep planning your next goal. Keep them SMART - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely. This helps give yourself the best chance of success.
Use a Motivational poster
Vision boards can be a bit woo woo, but if none of the above sound very interesting, you could just stick a photo of a burger in front of a treadmill and don’t give up until you feel like you’ve earned one of your own!
Get some killer workout clothing.
I don’t know about you, but just looking the part and being comfortable is half the battle. Now let me tell you about this SIC brand, CBFitwear, ever heard of them? Cover your bum with our high-waisted workout tights, jogging pants, or shorts. Look great with our workout and gym crop tops, crop bras, and t-shirts. Keep warm with out pocket hoodies and crew neck sweat shirts.
Believe it or not, these few tricks have actually worked for me. Every time I feel my motivation making a beeline for the ground, I think of some ridiculous, but funny way to pick myself up again and KICK SOME ASS! Now, excuse me, I have some Dynasty to catch up on.
